What started as a simple idea for summer Fridays turned into something we ended up loving much more than we expected.

We started After Work Fridays on June 26, opening the studio after regular hours for tattoos, drinks, music and DJ sets. From there, it all developed pretty naturally. Almost every Friday brought someone new behind the decks, different music, new people coming through the studio and a completely different atmosphere every time.

We discovered a lot of music along the way, met some great people and had some really good nights together. Some evenings were busy, some more relaxed, sometimes there was food, sometimes just good wine and cold beer, and for our last summer edition we even had smash burgers. But the idea was always the same — keep the studio open, keep tattooing, put on good music and see where the evening takes us.

A huge thank you to everyone who came by, got tattooed, stayed for a drink, danced, brought friends or simply spent part of their Friday with us. And of course to all the DJs who shared their music with us throughout the summer.

We tried to document as much as possible along the way. Unfortunately, we didn't manage to record every set, but we do have some full DJ sets, playlists and music from these evenings that we'll slowly be sharing here on the website as part of Some Songs We Like.

Now that summer is over, we're slowing things down a little. After a short break, the next After Work Friday will be September 25. From then on, we'll continue roughly once a month, with occasional extra evenings whenever there's a good reason to have one.

We're really happy that something that started so casually has found its own little life, and we're looking forward to seeing where it goes next.

More tattoos, more music, good people, good wine, good beer, maybe some burgers again.

Music has always been a big part of our everyday life at the studio. We spend most of our days working with music on — tattooing, drawing, talking, making things — so without really thinking about it, it has always been part of the atmosphere and the way we work.

This summer made that connection even stronger.

Through our After Work Fridays, we had the chance to invite so many great DJs into the studio, and almost every week someone brought a completely different sound with them. We heard music from all over the world, discovered artists and genres we probably wouldn't have found otherwise, and got to experience our own space in a completely new way. Every DJ brought a little bit of their own world into ours, and that ended up being one of our favourite parts of these evenings.

What started quite spontaneously as a summer idea became something that genuinely added a lot to our lives and to the studio. It wasn't only about having a DJ playing on a Friday night — it was about discovering music, meeting people, sharing things we like and letting the studio become something slightly different for a few hours.

These are some short films from our Fridays throughout the summer. We tried to capture a little piece of each evening — the music, tattoos, people and whatever was happening around us at the time.

We're really curious to see where this goes next. After Work Fridays will continue, just a little less often, and music will definitely continue to grow as part of the Forever Yours world. We'll also be sharing playlists, recorded sets and other things we discover along the way.

Some Songs We Like started as a simple way of sharing music we enjoy. It feels like it's slowly becoming something more — and we're happy to just let it develop naturally.
